We moved into our current home in 2002 and I remember loving the wide plank oak floors that were throughout the house.  We moved all of our furniture in on a Sunday and spent our first night in our new home the same day.

By Tuesday I was going bonkers because of the echo and cold floor.

It was my wife’s idea to get some area rugs. I was just going to buy a pair of slippers but with her idea we would still be able to show off our hardwood floors and give the place a little class while solving the echo and cold floor problem.

The first one that we bought was for the kitchen. The kitchen floor was the coldest in the house because there was an unheated crawl space under it. The rest of the house was over a finished basement.

We have a country style kitchen so were looking at country kitchen throw rugs. We found one with roosters and my wife and I were both immediately drawn to it.

After just one day of looking for an inexpensive kitchen rug we found one. We need one for the living room next.
